The Telehealth Connection

September 22nd - 2020

The Telehealth Connection programme will focus on remote connectivity and which ICTs enable Telehealth service delivery in places where there are no functioning networks.  Satellite and Cellular communications (4G, 5G, LTE), WiMax and other ICTs, as well as integrated hybrid networks are all potential solutions to provide access to sea going vessels, aircraft, vehicles, oil rigs, remote - rural villages and populations and other hard-to-reach locations.  This programme is also concerned with the software platforms that are developed and deployed to host these services.

Amit has over 15 years C-suite experience in the Australian Healthcare sector with deep networks across the state, federal, private and the non-profit sectors. He has held significant executive roles and was most recently Head of Strategy & Health Solutions at Sonic Clinical Services Pty. Ltd, a division of Sonic Healthcare.

John Enoh, CEO, BeepTool

John is the Founder and CEO of BeepTool Communications - a Nigeria-based satellite-as-a-service and integrated digital ecosystem provider.

The Lagos-based company is developing a range of services and products across mobile connectivity, telehealth, edtech, agrotech, fintech, messaging and voice and as a result, is on track to roll out its digital services and technology solutions to about 200 rural communities in Nigeria.

Youssef Jelloul, ICT Advisor for International Region West Central and North Africa, SOS Children’s Village

Youssef has close to 10 years’ experience working in complex, multi-vendor IT environments and is used to working with fast paced operations.  He has significant experience in the humanitarian field and is convinced of the ability of ICT to improve and save lives.

Dreck Oduor, ICT Officer and BioMed Technician, Médecins Sans Frontières

Dreck is proficient in multiple connectivity areas including satellite, LAN/WAN design & support, Fiber Optic Technologies and Data Networking Implementation.  In addition to his ten years of experience with Medicines sans Frontiers he has also worked in an ICT capacity with the UN World food programme.

•    Presentation 6.   The Digital Health Response to COVID-19 ... The Case of Bisa Health

Raindolf Owusu, Founder and Innovator, Bisa Mobile Health

Raindolf Owusu is a Software developer and technology entrepreneur. He believes frugal innovation can enhance the development of Africa and has a proven track record of successful projects.

Dubbed the “Mark Zuckerberg” of Accra by Forbes Africa magazine in 2012, he has received various awards such as the Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders. He was also listed in Forbes Africa under 30 Africa’s most promising entrepreneurs in 2015 and a New African Magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential Africans in 2015.

He founded Bisa, which means ask in the Ghanaian language twi, a technology company focused on building mobile health and electronic health solutions to tackle problems in the delivery of healthcare in Africa.

David Meltzer, Secretary General, GVF

David spent 16 years at Intelsat in corporate re-structuring and regulatory roles before moving to Terrestar Networks for 5 years and then to the Humanitarian sector spending close to 13 years with the American Red Cross finishing as General Counsel and Chief International Officer.

He currently serves as Secretary General of the GVF, a global trade association for the satellite communications industry.

Anders Strömberg, Director Head of Wearable Platform Division, Sony Network Communications Europe

Anders heads a business entity within Sony that provides solutions leveraging 4G/5G IoT communication technology for application areas such as mobile health and safety. The vision is to be a facilitator and front-runner for next-generation health and wellness solutions.

Anders has a background from the med tech industry and has worked in several major companies, among them Hewlett-Packard, Siemens and HemoCue.  Anders has also experience from the telecom and cybersecurity industry where he has worked in several start-up companies providing application platforms, application and consulting since 2000. This includes companies like Advenica, Appium/Aepona, MIMT, Heyhop, Bluelabs and moveAround. Anders has held management functions within business development, R&D and product management

Jihan Zoghbi PhD, Founder and CEO, Dr TIS / Telemedicine HealthTech

Jihan is an experienced Chief Executive Officer  with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Skilled in Computer Science, Ruby, LaTeX, Image Analysis, and Linux.
