The New Space Renaissance (Space 2.0)
Accelerating Innovation in Space-Based Communications... To Boldly Go!
February 26 . 2026 . 14:00 UK Time
This programme will offer a multi viewpoint analysis of the latest developments in the communications and connectivity aspects of the New Space economy. Multi earth orbit satellite play plus new age ground infrastructures, and other enhancing capabilities, enabling a multitude of practical use cases and applications, comprise the central theme of this programme. Increasingly, reshaping technologies, for instance AI / ML, Hyperconverged TMT Networks, 5G / 6G, Quantum Compute and the Industrial Metaverse, which until recently were considered fantastical but which are now ubiquitous, and effective in ways that are quite meaningful, have also become key focal points.

Modernizing Satellite Communications: Cloud-Native Infrastructure and AI/ML at Constellation Scale
Donathan Ratcliffe, Solutions Architect Aerospace and Satellite
Synopsis
This presentation demonstrates how AWS enables next-generation satellite communications through two solutions: "Agile Satcom with 5G NTN" integration for flexible, cloud-based ground infrastructure that reduces costs by 60% while supporting mobility applications, and "Real-time Insights for AI/ML-powered telemetry" processing that delivers sub-100ms anomaly detection across constellations of any size. Together, these solutions showcase how traditional machine learning and modern cloud architecture are reshaping satellite operations to be more agile, scalable, and cost-effective.

Inflight connectivity - a Paradigm Shift with LEO
Karl Keppke, Vice President Global Sales
Synopsis
In the past 2 years traditional GEO based IFC solutions have been dramatically challenged by Ku band LEO solutions. In the next 2 years there will be a further paradigm shift with new Ka band LEO constellations coming online. Likewise, the IFC equipment has also changed, but there are still questions related to reliability of flat panel and ESA technologies that remain. An overview of these technologies another impacts to be discussed.
